Unemployment fell slightly in December in the euro area, to 10.4%, remaining at its lowest levels in more than four years, announced Tuesday, 2 February the European Statistical Office Eurostat. The unemployment rate was 10.5% in November, the lowest level since October 2011. With 10.4%, it’s lowest since September 2011, Eurostat said in a statement.
This is slightly better than expected. The consensus of analysts expected a stagnation Factset a month on month, to 10.5%.
