The rise of inflation is confirmed. Consumer prices rose 0.3% in France in December compared to November due to the rising prices of energy and food products, according to a first estimate published on Tuesday by the Insee.
Over a year, they show a rise of 0.6% against 0.5% a month earlier, the pace is the highest since may 2014. Furthermore, they should rise above 1% in 2017 .
Still according to the Insee, the price index, harmonised, HICP, which allows for comparisons with other countries in the euro zone, grew 0.3% in December and recorded an increase of 0.8% year on year, there also the highest level since may 2014.
