As always, it is a piecemeal fashion show: If the General Confederation of Labour (CGT) leads Friday 1 st May processions antiaustérité with three other unions, the French Democratic Confederation of Labour (CFDT) welcomes his young side for a “festival” in Paris, while Force Ouvrière (FO) stands alone.
In the capital, the CGT, the Unitary Union Federation, United, National Union of Autonomous Trade Unions ( UNSA) will parade together. Unions made the call “unitary” , shunned by FO and CFDT which band apart, also wish to reaffirm that they “are determined to defend Democracy “ while a recent survey reported that less than one in two French (45%) considers useful. For the boss of the CDFT, Laurent Berger, “there is a global climate that the French are in defiance of many institutions” . He advocates to fight it, “déringardiser unionism.”
The start the big event is set Republic Square at 15 hours . Previously, other unions will gather. The National Front, he will scroll between the Rue de Rivoli and the Place de l’Opera.
