The Competition Authority is about to pin thirty poultry sector companies for price fixing between 2000 and 2007, reveals the Journal du Dimanche (JDD) . A total of 35 companies are involved including industry leaders such as LDC (Rented, … Le Gaulois), Gastronome, Duc or Doux and four associations.
The Competition Authority, which is expected to unveil this week results of its investigation, said they agreed on the price of standard or sophisticated products made with chicken, turkey, duck, guinea fowl and rabbit in three major markets namely retail, wholesale and catering outside the home.
JDD reminds the fine in theory can reach 10% of sales, but that the amount of penalties could be adjusted downward. Indeed, most companies did not dispute the complaints, the newspaper, which reduces the fine of 10 to 20%
