The SNCF has “absolutely” wanted to manipulate the inquiry into rail disaster Brétigny-sur-Orge (Essonne), who killed seven people in July 2013, said Saturday the CEO of SNCF Network, Jacques Rapoport, in an interview with Le Monde.
“We have never asked anyone to conceal information,” says Rapoport, refuting the information published Wednesday by the Chained Duck, under which the SNCF employees have briefed before their hearing by the court.
“Absolutely not,” replies the CEO of SNCF network. “Since the beginning of the investigation, we wanted to be transparent in order to contribute to the manifestation of the truth,” he added. “The urgency is to establish the facts” in order to know the causes of the accident.
The Duck chained revealed that the leaders of the SNCF had been placed on listening by judges.
According to the weekly, the intercepts showed “double standards” on the part of some witnesses. As it states in part that an intercept “Brétigny it’s crevards. Should all the fuck out!” But then ensures that judges do not know if the maintenance work is properly carried out there.
the derailment of the train in Brétigny Paris-Limoges, which occurred July 12, 2013, killed seven people and wounded dozens, due to a splint – sort of large clip on the switch – which had a crack not detected during tours monitoring and three of the four bolts were broken or loosened.
The splint was then rotated, causing the accident. All the expert reports conclude that a lack of maintenance on the tracks is at the origin of the accident.
Since the opening of a judicial investigation by the prosecutor in Evry, only two corporations were indicted, SNCF and Réseau Ferré de France (RFF), both implicated for manslaughter and injury.
Three railway SNCF, responsible for monitoring the tracks when the train derailed, were also placed in mid-January as an assisted witness status.
