Less than a week after the floods in Herault, the good weather returned, but the consequences are long lasting. A team from France 3 visited the town of Saint-Pargoire. There, the equestrian center and the vineyards require significant work to be restored when the damage is not irreversible.
In the local equestrian center, amount of infrastructure was destroyed, and hay needed to feed the 38 horses are wet and moldy on site. Winemakers deplore them, feet torn, but mostly what President Cellars wine cooperatives in France called “loss of substance” : in some places, stumps were uprooted and the soil is so damaged that it can no longer grow vine.
In the department, there are hundreds of growers and farmers to be in the same situation, and expect compensation. The boss of Allianz France believed, Friday, Oct. 3, the addition would be $ 500 or € 600 million in total for all insurers.
