A French smicard cheaper than Polish? – Le Figaro

A French employee paid at the minimum wage costs less to his company that his Polish or Portuguese equivalent seconded to France, contrary to popular belief, according to calculations by the general rapporteur for the Budget, Valérie Rabault (PS).

Taking into account the effects of the IECC and responsibility pact “employer contributions are now more only 10% of the gross salary for a salary SMIC against 20% in 2007 and 2012,” said on Monday Ms. Rabault to occasion of the debate on the bill on the settlement of the 2015 budget to the national Assembly. “Now a French employee paid the minimum wage returns to his employer at 1609 euros per month” taking into account the benefit of the IECC (estimated at 87 euros), according to Valerie Rabault.

“If he was Polish and France paid the minimum wage with social contributions paid in Poland, the cost would be for his employer from 1756 euros. In Romania it would be .619 euros, Spain 1788 euros and Portugal from 1697 euros “, according to calculations by Valerie Rabault sent to AFP and based on a note from the Finance Ministry.

Poland is the main country of origin of the seconded employees in France, with 46,816 workers. Follow Portugal (44 456), Spain (35,231) and Romania (30,594)
