Poland : Airbus rejected in favor of the u.s. Lockheed Martin – Echoes



Poland, which had declared last week to abandon the contract on the helicopter multi-role Caracal Airbus, announced this Monday the next acquisition of aircraft Black Hawk of the american Lockheed Martin, to equip its special forces.

” As of this week, we are going to open interviews (…). Even before the end of the year, the first devices of this type will be delivered to the special forces to enable them to exercise, ” said the Polish minister of Defense Antoni Macierewicz at a press conference after a meeting with the management of the factories PZL Mielec, in the south-east of the country, which belong to Lockheed Martin.

The minister has not specified the number of helicopters, the exact model and also the terms of the transaction which could be carried out without tender.
