This is the story of workers who are fighting to take back their factory located in Saint-Vincent-de-Mercuze (Isère). Ecopla, the only French manufacturer of trays in aluminum, was placed into receivership in February. But for the 77 employees, no question of lowering the arm. They are struggling to raise funds and create their SCOP, a society cooperative to become the majority shareholder.
“There is a know-how. We want to work. It wants to restart. There is no reason that it could not happen to serve our customers,” says Karine Salaun, former assistant commercial Ecopla. This Wednesday afternoon, the commercial court of Grenoble has to decide in the appeal between two offers : a cheque of 1.5 million euros to an Italian group to repurchase the equipment or the project SCOP employees.
