Facebook is cleaning articles with titles touts – KultureGeek

Facebook seeks to improve the user experience, and it is for this reason that the social network announced the change. Now, links that point to articles will be examined closely. Facebook will observe posts by administrators pages. If they publish messages as “You’ll NEVER believe what stars fought on the red carpet last night. Click this link to find out “, the publications will be less emphasized.

 Facebook Clickbait
This practice s’ called “clickbait.” It forces users to click on a link to see a photo, or other information that the arrival is not so important (in general). The goal is to generate clicks, resulting in more advertising revenue.

Facebook surveyed some of its users, 80% of them prefer to have full title to see if a link worth being clicked.

To find out if a publication uses the method clickbait, Facebook will analyze user habits. If a user clicks on the item and stays there for a while, Facebook guess the article is “interesting”. However, if they click on the article and that it is almost instantaneously on Facebook, the social network will include the article is suspect and certainly uses the technique clickbait.

It will also analyze the number of shares, for I like and comment. If a link is shared, commented and liked is that it is interesting in some way. If there is no activity is that there is still suspect.

Facebook pages that continue to use the technique of clickbait will see their statistics fall in the coming months , announced the social network.
