The strike by employees of Aéroports de Paris on Thursday and Friday will cause disruptions in air traffic at Roissy, where a reduction of 20% of scheduled flights was requested for Friday morning, said Wednesday the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
The move, which covers all employees of the Paris airports manager (Roissy, Orly, Le Bourget), starts Thursday at 12:00 and will continue until Friday 12:00. However, it does not cause disturbances in Orly, according Aéroports de Paris (ADP).
Roissy-Charles de Gaulle, “delays are to be expected,” on Thursday noon, said in a press release the DGAC, which said it had “asked airlines to reduce their flight schedule by 20%” in this airport, “for the morning” on Friday.
The DGAC invites passengers to check with their airline to find out the status of their flight.
The strike, initiated by the four representative unions ADP (CGT, FO, CFE-CGC and UNSA), aims to denounce the policy Pay conducted by management, who decided to freeze salaries in 2015, despite the financial health of the group.
Firefighters ADP, responsible for securing the tracks and buildings were planned to participate movement, which explains the disturbances. These are “obliged to provide a minimum service,” recalls however an airport source.
The strike comes a week before the publication of financial results of ADP, which is expected to announce, according to the CGT, a net profit of at least € 358 million. “Almost 60% of the profits will go to shareholders. We want employees also benefit from these good results,” said Fabrice Michaud, CGT.
In a statement sent to AFP, ADP provides Wednesday proposed to have a meeting with the trade unions, the latter have refused. “The Directorate General of Aéroports de Paris maintains its exchange proposal in the context of existing social dialogue within the company,” adds the direction of ADP.
ADP, responsible for exploitation of Paris Orly, Roissy and Le Bourget, employs some 9,000 employees all subsidiaries, including nearly 6,900 in the parent company.
