Yearling: a thoroughbred sold 2.6 million euros, historic record in Deauville – Challenges.fr

Deauville (AFP) – A young thoroughbred was awarded at a price of € 2.6 million Sunday at prestigious yearling sales, future galloping horse race in Deauville, a record for the sale, according organizers.

Less than one hour later, another colt was sold for 1.15 million euros. This thoroughbred is a son of Frankel, crack English who remained unbeaten in 14 races, and which had been estimated at 100 million euros at the end of his career in 2012.

He was awarded the agent Charles Gordon-Watson on behalf of a “new client that he would not disclose the identity,” said the press service Arqana. He is leaving for training in England.

Meanwhile, another son of Frankel was awarded 750,000 euros, the Kuwaiti al-Saleh Homayzi via the broker Tony Nerses. This son of Piping mare, who has never run, will also go to training in England. It was also raised at the Ecurie des Monceaux

In August 2014, the most expensive horse was sold for 1.2 million euros in Deauville.

The average price was however reached 146,998 euros. For comparison, the average prices of trotters in September 2014 in Deauville was around 25,000 euros.

Flowering even in times of crisis, Deauville yearling sales had increased by 12 , 73% to 39.217 million euros in August 2014, compared to 2013, always with a strong presence in Qatar next buyers but also newcomers like South Africa.
