Little known to the general public and described by the US media as a discreet man, Sundar Pichai is now head of a mastodon. He has been appointed CEO of Google. Of Indian origin, aged 43, married and a father, he succeeds co-founder Larry Page, take care of the party holding Alphabet. Despite this lack of media recognition, the new boss of the famous search engine is yet behind many leading products, such as Android and Google Chrome.
His appointment to the top of Google owes nothing at random. Recently, Sundar Pichai had become the right arm of Larry Page. But more than a hierarchical relationship, there is a real relationship of respect between the two men. While Sundar Pichai considers the co-founder as a “mentor”, it feels fortunate “to have someone as talented as him to lead a Google thinned slightly.”
Man very courted

A meteoric rise
Considered by his teachers as a very bright student and gifted with a good memory , Sundar Pichai graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, an MA from Stanford University of Science and another in business administration from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. This big fan of basketball and football started his professional career at Applied Materials specialist semiconductors, Sundar Pichai cut his teeth in the consulting firm McKinsey before joining Google in 2004.
Since joining the firm in Mountain View, Sundar Pichai has worked on several flagship products firm. He particularly busy, as Vice President, Android mobile operating system, or, the Chrome web browser which he helped launch in 2008. Recently, he watched the daily management of the group’s products, as well as engineering and research as vice president.
