In China, four days after the disaster that killed at least 112 dead, clearance operations are continuing on Tianjin Port. Several hundred tons of cyanide were stored on the site of the explosion.
Over 200 military chemical weapons experts arrived on the spot. Their mission is to identify the toxic components. But for the first time, Chinese authorities recognize the presence of hundreds of tons of cyanide at the site of the explosion. Officially, no danger to health.
Not enough to reassure the people of Tianjin, came to demonstrate outside the room where there was a press conference of the Chinese authorities. All fear contamination and denounce a lack of transparency.
No information as to the precise type of cyanide stored on the site, but some forms can be asphyxiating and even fatal. The Chinese authorities have failed to provide further details, but have extended the evacuation zone.
