Twitter and Google combine a little more in research – L’Express

Google and Twitter now go hand in hand. Since Friday, a partnership between the Internet giant and the social network allows tweets to appear within search engine results.

The first messages from the social network began, during May, to be included in Google Search results when the research was done from a smartphone. This practice is now spreading to research done from a desktop computer.

This was confirmed by an exchange on Twitter between the two companies: “Heytwitter, party for research with us Visit desktops’.”, wrote the Internet giant on its official account. And Twitter has accepted the invitation on his promising “to bring the tweets”.

An important partnership for Twitter

The two groups had already had a similar arrangement between 2009 and 2011. The renewed partnership comes as Twitter tries to broaden its appeal to reassure worried about its prospects for growth markets.

Twitter claiming 316 million subscribers in late June and only 44% connect daily on the main markets of the social network 20. By comparison, 65% of 1.49 billion Facebook users worldwide will access daily basis.

In the last quarterly results late July, the CFO, Anthony Noto, further confessed that there would be no significant and sustainable growth in the number of users as Twitter would not touch the general public, which “take considerable time.”
