New bad news for the Corsican National Society Mediterranean (SNCM). The administrative court of Bastia canceled Tuesday, April 7 public service delegation (DSP) Maritime Corse-continent attributed to SNCM and the South island of Corsica (CTC).
The application for annulment was submitted by the private company Corsica Ferries whose vessels fly the Italian flag. It will take effect from October 2016.
The Administrative Court followed the opinion of the public rapporteur for which the rejection of the offer of Corsica Ferries was not justified by the CTC.
In early February, five takeover bids and two letters of intent were submitted to SNCM unions. The decision is expected in late March or early April. But whatever it is, the buyer of the Marseille company bankruptcy will not benefit the public service delegation.
