Alexis Tsipras met with Angela Merkel in Brussels on the eve of a meeting of finance ministers of the euro area.
The situation remains blocked between Athens and its creditors on the eve of a meeting in Riga, finance ministers of the eurozone which initially wanted decisive. Although the meeting Thursday in Brussels between Alexis Tsipras and Angela Merkel on the sidelines of an EU summit on migrants, was held in a “constructive and positive atmosphere” and the two leaders noted “significant progress” according to a Greek official. Alexis Tsipras also had to plead his case with Francois Hollande.
