A young woman hurried to Mario Draghi, the president of the European Central Bank (ECB), during ‘ a press conference last Wednesday at the corporate headquarters in Frankfurt, leading to a brief interruption of the event. The woman in her twenties, who had mingled with the public to journalists, climbed on the table before Mario Draghi chanting English year “Stop the dictatorship of the ECB” (“End the Dictatorship ECB”) , a slogan that she too wore on his shirt, while throwing confetti, found an AFP journalist present. The frightened reaction Draghi did not fail to arouse the irony of social networks. The press conference was interrupted for a few minutes and the young woman was controlled by the security services. The Conference then returned to normal without Mario Draghi will do again allude, if not to propose “catch up” by extending a little in the end. How young she pasionaria have entered the ECB building? Mystery! Indeed, the security procedures are very strict and no there not previously registered person is not normally allowed to attend the press conference, which is held every six weeks. The ECB is a target for activists who see it as a major architect of the austerity policies implemented in several European countries. As a member of the troika, she claimed to Greece harsh reforms (the minimum wage cuts, pensions, etc.). The inauguration of its new headquarters in Frankfurt has resulted last month in major anti-austerity protests and anti-capitalists, which brought together thousands of people and have degenerated into violence at times. Mario Draghi may yet wonder how he can be himself the target of anti-austerity activists while it is considered by some observers as a Keynesian madman. Did not he just extended his massive redemptions political asset in the fight against deflation, a policy that has led to an unprecedented decline in interest rates demanded by investors to finance the states. What ingratitude!
