2.25 tons! French Customs made a seizure … – The Obs

For Hot

(CD)

“According to preliminary estimates, the amount of drugs on board would reach 2.25 tonnes,” provide the finance ministers, Michel Sapin, and Budget, Christian Eckert.

French Customs conducted a “historic” cocaine seizure in a sailboat off the coast of Martinique. Three suspects, two Spaniards and a Venezuelan, were detained on board the ship, “falsely American flag flying.”

The operation, which took place last Wednesday, is the largest cocaine seizure made by customs. This is the result of a two-year investigation by the National Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (DNRED), in connection with the Spanish and British services.

For the French ministers, the operation therefore reflects “both the quality of international cooperation in the fight against drug trafficking and the quality of intelligence work done by Customs.”
