Attack of Corte: the 3 nationalist corsicans sentenced to 5, 6, and 8 years in prison – The Express

on Thursday, the court followed the public prosecutor in the lines and sentenced Nicolas Battini, Stéphane Tomasini and Jean-Baptiste Verdi, aged 22 to 24 years of age to sentences 5, 6, and 8 years in prison. All three are accused of having launched the car a battering-ram against the door of the sub-prefecture of Corte and then to have it burned down.

Two accused present in Paris

Among the accused present at the trial, Nicolas Battini has been sentenced to 8 years in prison and Stéphane Tomasini to 5 years in prison. The third man, Joseph-Marie Verdi, the grandson of the former leader of separatist Charles Pieri, currently on the run and the subject of an arrest warrant, has been sentenced to 6 years in prison “by default”.

on Wednesday, clashes erupted in Bastia (Haute-Corse) between the forces of law and order and the nationalist corsican who came to protest against the requisitions made in Paris towards the three men, and which have been followed by the tribunal this Thursday. Four members of the security forces were wounded in the city in incidents with dozens of young nationalists in corsica.
