In India, the very low-key signing ceremony of sale of the Rafale – The World

The communication was made, at least for this signature. There is no doubt that the amount of the transaction, in the order of 8 billion euros, is no stranger to this discretion.

The minister of defense  French Jean–Yves le Drian and the minister of  indian defence Manohar Parrikar signed the  agreement in New Delhi on Friday, September 23.

No journalist of india has been invited, except for a few cameramen and photographers. The indian government has not issued any official statement. The news has just been reported by the defence minister, Manohar Parrikar, on his Twitter account, the 23 September. A communication to a minimum. It is necessary to know the details of the contract, reading the few details that have been leaked in the indian press, or turn to the French delegation.

India wants to keep the ceremony of signatures discrete. Is it not too much and divulging the amount of the contract ? The acquisition of 36 Rafale, of the order of 8 billion euros, according to French sources, is the equivalent of a year and a half…
