Laurent Berger is mounted to the plate this Sunday about the remuneration of executives. Invited to the program BFM policy, the secretary general of the CFDT felt that the remuneration of Carlos Tavares, CEO of PSA Peugeot Citroën, was “not legitimate.” The leader of the French automotive group earned 5.24 million euros in 2015, almost double the previous year, according to documents released Friday.

In detail, this compensation includes 1.93 million euros in variable and 1.3 million fixed share of euros, according to the reference document of the automotive group. The supervisory board of PSA Peugeot Citroen said that the plan’s goals “Back in the race”, namely the roadmap for 2014-2018 “accelerate the group’s reconstruction”, presented in April 2014 by the leader, “were made in 2015 “. The remuneration of Carlos Tavares also includes 130,000 stock “performance” granted during the year, and valued € 2 million. These titles will be available as of 31 March 2019.

“Obviously PSA recovers, the better, of course, thanks in part to its leaders, but also greatly thanks to the efforts of employees and the wealth created by employees, “said Laurent Berger. The head of the CFDT called for “decency”, saying that legislation to cap executive salaries was not necessarily a “response”. “It wage style caused great harm to social cohesion,” he added. “I would dream of individual behavior that allows to abandon it.”

Moreover, the CFDT will “continue to make proposals” to weigh on the labor bill that begins Tuesday its parliamentary course , assured Laurent Berger. He made particular reference to the article on the redundancy, “still extremely imprecise” he said, as well as measures concerning the employment agreements or, for posted workers, those in the fight against abuse.

The number of the CFDT has claimed that his organization had “weighed” but so far this is “not the Berger law,” he said, defending himself as d being subjected to the Socialist party. “I’m not purchasable, I do not buy and I do not sell myself to anyone,” said he said.

By the way, Laurent Berger held a “catch-all” the watchwords of mobilization scheduled for Thursday at the initiative of trade unions and youth organizations opposed to the bill of the Minister of Labour Myriam El Khomri. “I think there is a malaise and crystallization of this malaise around” the bill, has he said.
