2015, SNCF wants to make you really prefer the train. For the first time in its history, the railway is selling this Wednesday an annual passes giving virtually unlimited access to some of its trains. Ten thousand cards iDTGV Max are thus available online from Wednesday noon to 59.99 euros per month, for a start reservations on 8 February. “Ten minutes after the start of the sale, 150 cards had already been sold,” says one to SNCF.

As the name suggests, the offer is on the iDTGV network or 10,000 trains per year and more than 50 cities served from or to Paris, like Marseille, Grenoble, Bordeaux and Brest. For “Max iDTGV is primarily to those traveling for leisure and want from regular weekends or on holidays,” says Valerie Dehlinger, CEO of iDTGV. Customers who would like to join Lille and Strasbourg, identified as professional destinations, so may go their way.

The” jump seats “in some extra trains

To succeed what she calls a” revolution “, SNCF made sure to offer its customers a tariff reasonable. On a return trip, the subscription is profitable, welcomed the company. “Sixty euros is roughly the price of a tank of gas or a Paris-Marseille carpooling,” adds Valérie Dehlinger. “We are responding to the expectations of our customers, who told us often prefer the car because the train reservations required too much anticipation,” she continues. Indeed, the offer iDTGV Max wants to be very flexible: subscribers can book a ticket up to 45 minutes before departure, cancel at will up to five hours, just to travel carrying their card and manage all their bookings online. The only flaws: they are accessible only two months in advance, and their number is limited to four at the same time every 60 days

In each train, a space is reserved for customers. unlimited offer or forty seats. “For some very destinations, says Valerie Dehlinger, we will also add some seating in the form of folding seats to meet the demand.” One way to respond to those who are sure that the offer “unlimited” has all the same limitations.

For the SNCF, the interest of this happening is obviously to build customer loyalty. But it is also for the company to increase its sales volume to reach full capacity, while the occupancy rate reached 86.1% iDTGV today. To get there, it does not stop there. “Our goal, ultimately, is to expand our offering,” promises Valerie Dehlinger. In the coming months, new destinations and should be added to those of the network. As for iDNeige service, which leads travelers by bus from the station to the slopes of a dozen stations, it could also soon enrich the offer iDTGV Max.
