Xavier Niel buys Orange Switzerland to 2.3 billion euros through its … – Challenges.fr

Xavier Niel , through his holding NJJ Capital, has reached an agreement to buy the operator Orange Switzerland to Apax investment funds for $ 2.8 billion Swiss francs (about 2.3 billion), said Thursday, Dec. 18 AFP a source close to NJJ.

The France Telecom Group, Orange became, officially sold in February 2012, its Swiss subsidiary Apax Partners for a little more than 1.5 billion euros, a sale to which Xavier Niel had already paid at the time candidate.

“The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approval from authorities and should be finalized by the end of first quarter 2015,” said a statement from the British fund Apax.

“Since 2012 when Orange Switzerland was acquired by Apax funds, my team and I have followed closely all developments experienced by the company,” said Xavier Niel said in the statement.

“My top priority will be to manage Orange Switzerland in accordance with the environment and the characteristics of the Swiss market,” the French billionaire.

At the end September Orange Switzerland employed 871 employees.

Xavier Niel , owner of Iliad (Free), had seized in May from 55% of Monegasque telecom operator Monaco Telecom after paying € 322 million through his personal holding NJJ Capital.
