Greek referendum: “a good lesson” (FN) – BBC

The first political reactions in France (National Front and MRC) after the announcement by the Greek prime minister, Alexis Tsipras, a referendum on July 5 on the possible agreement between Athens and its creditors.

The National Front says and it is “a good lesson in democracy to the caste-European (…) It reminds referendum (…) that in a democracy, the people exist and they should be the only sovereign. He reminded the President the European Commission, Mr Juncker, that contrary to what he says, there may be democratic choices against the Treaties. This referendum is one that Nicolas Sarkozy and Angela Merkel had shamefully cancel at the end of the year 2011: it is a beautiful contrast of history, but of time and money lost in four years (…) A day will come very close, where the French people also will decide by referendum on! future, its sovereignty, prosperity and freedom. This referendum will not be held by the leaders of the RPS but by patriots committed to democracy and the rule of the people “

Meanwhile, Jean -Luke Laurent, chairman of the Republican and Citizens’ Movement (MRC): “The message is clear: Greece will not yield to blackmail. Faced with a European Union that hates referendums, Alexis Tsipras gives us a new lesson of political courage by refusing to abdicate. The Greek government has continued to make concessions (pensions, taxation …) but it can not accept the unacceptable for a few billion + + fresh money that would be used to buy him time. The realism and ideology are the creditors’ side and the German right. This decision Alexis Tsipras is also a beautiful lesson sovereignty “
