Labour law: first test of the street to reform El Khomri – Les Echos

After clicking, the street. This Wednesday, while Manuel Valls completes its consultations with the social partners, is held the first mobilization against the proposed labor law. The date was chosen because it was the day the text was to be presented in the Cabinet. But the executive ended up solving, there are 10 days to shift the event against the outcry over the draft submitted to the State Council.

he now faces three fronts: the trade unions, who demand an in-depth review (CFDT, CFTC, CGC and Unsa) or withdrawal of the text (FO, CGT, Solidaires); that a significant part of the Socialists, which goes well beyond just slingers; the youth organizations.

So far, the confrontation was essential virtual, social networks having seized of the matter. The hashtag “#OnVautMieuxQueCa” was a resounding success. And most petition against the copy of the government has just passed the 1.2 million signatures. But now the challenge is going to take shape.

The day of action looks unusual. For background on strike at the SNCF and RATP, union traditional appointment will not be alone. Many more were launched outside of them on social networks. In Paris, there will be no fewer than three appointments: the first union at 12 h 30 at the Medef, is flanked by two other initiatives, one at 11 hours instead of the Nation, the other 14 hours Republic square, which promises the most followed. It seems a long time to Cop 21 when the government banned all gatherings because of emergency …

The school calendar plays

the recognition of the protesters will be complicated by the peculiar configuration of mobilization. “Taken together it can make the world” , is accepted in government circles. But no one, however, does not expect a tidal wave. “100,000 to 200,000 people would be good participation” , says a wise trade unionist. Disunity among employee organizations will obviously weigh: the four reformist – CFDT, CFTC, CGC and UNSA- have not joined the initiative that asks the simple withdrawal of the draft text

But the school calendar also plays: some students and high school students have barely resume classes. Now the big question is whether this youth, stated priority of François Hollande in 2012, will raise the appeal of the UNEF, the Unl, the Fidl and many left organizations. The reference to the movement against the CPE in 2006, is clearly in everyone’s head. Myriam El Khomri, has also felt the need to remind this Tuesday, she had participated.

A “Warming up”

concern for the executive is more about high schools universities where mobilization would not exceed this time the militant circle. What challenges the UNEF. Still, the day of action on Wednesday will score zero endpoint but rather a “Warming up” . Not that the rallies which call on Saturday reformist unions CFDT, CFTC, CGC and Unsa may sign a scalability. But if Manuel Valls does not move enough 14, there could be at the next Inter, 18, in joint initiatives for including the reformist side, the militants seem very angry. CGT, FSU and have already made an appointment on March 31
