Paris – The industrial group Alstom said he was ready Friday to respond to possible objections the European Commission is preparing to raise in connection with the redemption to 12 billion euros, its energy division by American General Electric.

Guardian of the competition in Europe, the Commission launched in February a thorough investigation of the operation, which could cause problems in the market for high-power gas turbines.
It has only four global competitors (GE, Alstom, Siemens and Mitsubishi Power Systems Hitachi – PSAM) and Brussels fear that the operation would lead to higher prices, reduced choice for consumers and less innovation in the sector.
The Commission had indicated in May that it had until August 21 to make its verdict.
