The abstention in the 1st round of the departmental elections is expected on the whole day at 48.5% according to CSA and Ipsos 49.5%, announced the two institutes.
This is considerably lower than the rate recorded by the Ministry of Interior at cantonal elections of 2011 (56.78%), but higher than in 2008 (36.23%). In the European elections of May 2014, abstention was finally established 56.5%

Corse-du-Sud emerges as the department to have the most voted to 17h (57.44%), ahead of Corrèze (53.5%), a stronghold of President François Hollande, the Landes ( 53.42%), Tarn (52.52%), Aude (52.55%), the Pyrénées-Orientales (52.09%), the Yonne (52.02%), Lozère (51 , 79%), Jura (51.31%) and Lot (50.54%).
In contrast, the Seine-Saint-Denis even appeared as the department with the lowest mobilization of voters (28.4%), behind the Hauts-de-Seine (34.82%), Yvelines (35.36%), Essonne (35.93%), Haute-Savoie (36, 12%), the Haut-Rhin (36.69%), Ain (36.89%), the North (36.92%), Val d’Oise (37.11%) and the Val de Marne (37.69%)
17h. – 42.98% stake, against 36.38% in 2011
The participation rate in the first round of departmental elections pupil at 42.98% in France to 17h. It is up from the cantonal 2011 at the same time (36.38%), according to figures from the Ministry of Interior.
This level of attendance at polling stations, slightly higher one of European May 2014 at the same time (35.07%), however, is lower than that recorded in the municipal March 2014 (54.72%). It is also less than the cantonal 2008 at 17h (54.53%)
