PERNOD RICARD WANTS tO ACCELERATE 2016-2017
PARIS (Reuters) – Pernod Ricard reported Thursday in current operating income up 2% for his offbeat 2015-2016 fiscal year and said it expects an acceleration of its operating performance for the current fiscal year.
the two world number spirits , owner of Martell cognac, Absolut vodka or whiskey Jameson, generated an operating income (ROC) of 2.27 billion euros, up 2% at constant exchange rates for the year ended 30 June in line with the consensus of 2.273 billion directed by Inquiry Financial Reuters.
the group, who said anticipating an increase of the result between 1% and 3% fixed now aim to generate a ROC up 2% to 4% for 2016-2017 “by supporting key brands and giving priority to operational excellence.”
Over the period, sales increased by 2 % to 8.68 billion euros at constant exchange rates, with a decline of 1% in the fourth quarter alone.
Very monitored by the market, sales in China still struggling in the brandy and whiskey, have increased their decline to 9% for the year, after a decline of 2% a year earlier.
the net income group share climbed 43% to 1.23 billion euros, the result of the previous year had been impacted impairment of 404 million euros on Absolut vodka.
The proposed dividend increased by 4% to 1.88 euro per share.
