By Michael MATHES, with Sebastian White in Washington

“Don’t shoot! Don’t shoot!”: the family of a Black man shot dead by the us police has released a video shock of his last moments, thus increasing the pressure on the authorities to do the same.

This death in Charlotte, in the south-eastern United States, shakes for several days, this North Carolina city and has become a political issue with the approach of the presidential election in November.

In the night from Friday to Saturday, hundreds of protesters are still gathered in the streets of Charlotte, for the fourth night in a row. They consider that the police is found guilty of a new smudge against the black community.

The protesters have defied a curfew imposed by the authorities, marching towards the headquarters of the police but in an atmosphere calmer than the previous days.

An event also gathered hundreds of people in Atlanta, Georgia (southeast), where the protesters were gathered at the call of the NAACP, the largest organization of defense of the Black people in the United States.

to date, the police refuses to publish its video images showing the circumstances of the death Tuesday of Keith Lamont Scott. She claims that the man, 43-year-old was a threat to the police officers and carrying a weapon. His family says that he had a book in hand.

The video released by the family has been filmed by the wife of the victim, Rakeyia Scott, through his mobile phone. It does not show the moment where the police shot and does not allow to conclude if the man was armed.

“Don’t shoot! Do not shoot! It is not armed! He’s done nothing!”, implores the wife, who is ten meters away from the area where her husband is held in cheek by several police officers.

“Loose your weapon!” Loose thy weapon!”, ordered by a police officer, without being able to see where Keith Scott is located exactly.

“He has no weapon! He has a brain problem. It’s not going to do anything to you, he comes to take his medicine!”, prevents Rakeyia Scott.

“Keith, don’t let them break the glass, get out of the car!”, cree then the wife to her husband. “Keith, don’t do it! Keith! Get out of the car! Do not do it! Keith!”

Four shots ring out and the wife began to shout : “You have drawn above? You have him shot?”

Rakeyia Scott continue to film, her husband being spread out flat on the floor, surrounded by four police officers.

“Here are the police officers who shot at my husband and there was an interest in what he live, because he had done nothing,” she said finally.

The candidate a democrat in the White House Hillary Clinton has claimed on Twitter that the video of the police – which was viewed by the family of the victim – to be made public “without delay.”

Friday, announced that it was pushing back a trip to Charlotte that she was intending to do these days. The mayor of the city, Jennifer Roberts, had asked a little earlier to the two candidates to the presidency to postpone any possible visit, citing the “very limited resources” of the security forces responsible for maintaining order.

The protests in Charlotte have led the governor of the State of North Carolina to declare a state of emergency and called in reinforcement of the military of the national Guard.

More broadly, this sudden death has reignited a national debate on the abuse of forces of law and order against american Blacks.

Keith Scott was killed only four days after a Black unarmed was shot and killed by a police white in Tulsa, Oklahoma (south), under the eye of cameras by police.

on The contrary, of Charlotte, authorities in Tulsa have quickly released the video of the drama, and the police author of the fatal shot has been charged Thursday with manslaughter. She was released Friday with a deposit of $ 50,000.

Barack Obama, the first black president in the history of the United States, spoke briefly Friday on these events, as he prepares to start Saturday at Washington, a museum dedicated to african american history: the opening of this establishment will allow the Americans to “put some events in a historical context”, a-t-he hoped.

“The people who see what happens to Charlotte and which will visit this museum to better understand the demands of the Blacks, which will allow them to take su back and “say:” I understand, I sympathize+”.
