The American Jim Yong Kim, sole candidate to his own succession, was unanimously reelected to head the world Bank for a second five-year term, said Tuesday the institution of development in a press release.
A tacit agreement is that Americans and Europeans share the management of the Bretton Woods institutions, the first taking the head of the World Bank, while the latter lead the international monetary Fund. Mr. Kim, age 56, became president in July 2012. His second term begins on July 1, 2017.
