The problem, which concerns a safety ring installed on fixing a pedal “was detected during an internal control and is already corrected on current production” , the company said. The owners of affected vehicles “will be contacted by Volkswagen”, says the manufacturer. The garage control will require less than half an hour.
Volkswagen announced earlier Tuesday the recall of 177,000 cars Passat B8, could present an electrical problem. In February, the Volkswagen brand has announced, as other German manufacturers, the recall of 680,000 cars in the US because of a potentially faulty airbag from the Japanese supplier Takata.
