HISTORY
Touched but not pouring. This Friday, the French shipping company Myferrylink won his legal battle against the Competition Authority and British markets, and will continue to dock at the English port of Dover from Calais. “This decision represents a significant victory for our dedicated employees and our customers, who will continue to benefit from healthy competition in the short sea crossings” has responded Myferrylink, which employs 577 employees. Last year, the British authorities had prohibited the company to operate between Dover and Calais after July 2015, arguing that its proximity to Eurotunnel – which it is a subsidiary since 2012 – raised competition concerns. A decision quashed by the UK Court of Appeal which ruled on Friday that there was no merger in the legal sense of the term.
